About Local League

I've spent over 16 years designing and building websites and online tools — for everyone from one-person startups to household-name brands. But the project I'm proudest of started a lot closer to home.

Like plenty of people, I play in a local pool league. And like plenty of leagues, ours was held together with spreadsheets, group chats and the odd scrap of paper. Fixtures got lost, results got argued over, and whoever ran it spent their evenings buried in admin instead of enjoying the game.

So I built the tool I always wished existed. Every feature in Local League comes from a real headache — the reschedule that threw the whole week out, the captain chasing results over WhatsApp, the player who just wanted to see their own stats. If it annoyed me as a player or an organiser, I set out to fix it.

The goal is simple: make grassroots leagues feel properly professional. Give organisers their evenings back, and give every player a profile, a rating and stats worth showing off. It's a labour of love — and I'm only getting started.
